To ensure compliance to the Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® food safety programs our greenhouses and warehouses are audited annually to Safe Quality Food standards.
The Safe Quality Food Standard (SQF) is based on proven principals by the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods, HACCP methodology, and Codex Alimentarious (ISO).
The SQF standard has three levels:
Level 1 - Food Safety Fundamentals (Prerequisites)
Level 2 - HACCP Certification (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
Level 3 - HACQP Certification (Hazard Analysis Critical Quality Points)

The SQF Standards under the Global Food Safety Initiative is recognized by over 85% of our North American Customers and has potential for regulatory recognition.
